You play King Graham, the King of Daventry. Queen Valanice, Prince Alexander, and Princess Rosella of the Royal Family as well as Castle Daventry have been taken hostage by the evil sorcerer Mordack. In this game, you travel to the Land of Serenia and beyond to find your family and castle and to restore them back to the Kingdom of Daventry.

The Macintosh version is the best. I played the original in summer of '92 and still have the gorgeous box! The Mac version has nicer graphics than the VGA PC version, and it also has the "rich" sound. A Mac emulator will run it well, but Macs had all sorts of different sound chips and it's difficult to find an emulator with proper sound support.

Yes I have a complete copy for the NES here, granted the graphics aren't amazing (what do you expect right) but the interface is the same, the game plays the same. Either get the ROM or find a copy for cheap.

Good

I have played all the King's Quest series, several times over. I have always played them on the PC and never on NES, Atari, or any other format. From looking at some of the graphics on YouTube, they do not look as good on NES as on the PC. Given the chance, I would love to play KQV on NES to compare the story, graphics, user interface etc. Thank you for making me aware that KQV was also played on NES.

Everybody always forgets the NES version of this game which for the console version is really good, takes a lot of getting used too but still good none the less.
