Shadows of Tehran
Trailers

"When you find yourself at the gates of Hell, keep walking."

Churchill

In Shadows of Tehran , author Nick Berg presents a gripping narrative, based on a true survival story, following Ricardo, a young boy navigating the chaos of post-revolutionary Iran. Born to a CIA operative father and an Iranian mother, Ricardo’s life takes a dramatic turn when his father abandons the family during the rise of Ayatollah Khomeini.
As Iran’s revolution escalates, Ricardo’s mother remarries, introducing a stepfather with a dark secret that binds them. Witnessing the American Embassy siege, Ricardo is consumed with anger over the loss of freedoms in his homeland. Fueled by this rage, he becomes the “Shadow Rider,” a daring freedom fighter navigating Tehran’s dangerous streets on his motorcycle with his companion, Bahar.
Ricardo’s rebellion quickly makes him a target. After a narrow escape from execution, he flees to Turkey and eventually finds his way to America, where his journey continues. Homeless and facing hardship, Ricardo’s resilience leads him to join the U.S. military, where his unique skills propel him into the elite Special Forces. He served with distinction in several military missions, including the Gulf War, Bosnia, Rwanda, and Colombia.
Shadows of Tehran is not just a military story; it is an inspirational tale of overcoming war trauma and cultural challenges, showing the emotional transformation of an Iranian rebel to a U.S. Special Forces soldier. Through Ricardo’s journey, Nick Berg captures the cultural conflict and the harrowing experiences of a survivor’s journey from Iran to Special Ops. This military hero story is a testament to the power of resilience and the pursuit of freedom.
