SEE THE CURRENT WAITLIST

Check the Waitlist Before Your Visit

Wait times can vary from a few minutes to several hours before you are paired with a counselor to meet potential new pet(s). Shortest wait times tend to be between 2:00-4:00 on weekdays.

Important Labels to Notice on Adoptable Animals

“Unavailable for Visits Today” animals may be recovering from surgery or otherwise unavailable. If you are interested in that animal, visit the shelter a different day.

“Available from Foster” and “On an Outing” animals are not in the shelter. Leave a message for the Adoption Center at (608) 838-0413 ext. 145 to set up an appointment to meet these animals.

“Available from Thrift Store East” and “Available from Thrift Store West" animals are at our Thrift Store. Thrift Store East is located at 5231 High Crossing Blvd. and Thrift Store West is located at 6904 Watts Road, both in Madison. Meet them during the stores' open hours.
