Protecting Your Personal Property
The best way to protect your personal property is to keep your keys in your possession at all times and lock your room anytime you leave. This is an important topic to discuss with your roommate(s).
Bucknell will not be held liable for loss of or damage to personal property, including loss that arises from theft, fire or water damage, even if those incidents take place in residence halls or elsewhere on campus. Bucknell's insurance protects only the University's property. For full details, please refer to your Student Housing Agreement.
For this reason, Bucknell strongly recommends that all students, whether residing on or off campus, obtain some form of personal property protection insurance. Often called renter's insurance, this coverage is offered by many providers, and may be available as an add-on to a parent's home-insurance policy.
Bucknell has partnered with GradGuard Renters Insurance to offer students an opportunity to obtain coverage for their personal property. Students can find information about this insurance and have the option to purchase a policy in the University housing portal, myHOME .

Appliances & MicroFridge Rentals
Bucknell does not provide appliances like microwaves or mini-fridges for single and double rooms assigned to first-year students and sophomores. You can coordinate with your roommate and bring your own appliances or rent a MicroFridge (an appliance with both functions) through the Campus Specialties website.
Once you have your current housing assignment, including room number and building name, you can place your order. Campus Specialties will deliver the unit directly to your room and remove it after you move out at the end of the spring semester. You just need to clean it out and unplug the unit when you move out.

Bigger Bed Mattress Topper Rental
Bucknell students have the option of renting a Bigger Bed memory foam mattress topper from Eepy. The mattress topper increases the width of a Bucknell standard twin mattress to a full XL width. Rentals are available by semester or academic year. Delivery, installation and return pick-up are included in the rental price.

Storage Information
Dorm Room Movers is the University's storage partner and offers students the opportunity to store items during the summer for a fee. Students using this service must pack their belongings using the packing supplies provided by the company. Boxes will be picked up by the company on campus at the end of the academic year and will be delivered to your new residence the following year.
