LTD insurance is designed to pay a monthly benefit to you in the event you cannot work for an extended period of time because of a covered illness or injury. This LTD benefit replaces a portion of your income, helping you to meet your financial commitments in a time of need. Employees who are not eligible for CSU paid LTD can enroll in a Voluntary plan which has different benefit waiting periods. (See below) If your LTD claim is approved by The Standard, LTD benefits become payable at the end of the 180 day benefit waiting period. No benefits are payable during the benefit waiting period. Some features of your LTD coverage include: * Return to Work Incentive/Child Care Expense Benefit * Reasonable Accommodation Expense Benefit * Survivors Benefit * Right to Convert If you have additional questions about Long Term Disability, please contact The Standard at 800-378-5745 or [email protected] Employee Paid Voluntary Long Term Disability Insurance If you are not covered by a CSU paid LTD plan, you may be eligible to purchase Voluntary Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance. Individual plans have two payment options, payment after 30 days of disability or payment after 90 days of disability. For more information and answers to commonly asked questions please review the Voluntary LTD Insurance Brochure Employees may enroll in a Voluntary Long Term Disability plan at anytime, however, if an employee enrolls within 60 days of hire no medical certification is required. For Information, to Enroll or Make Changes Please note: Once enrolled, your expected LTD monthly pay-out will not increase as your salary increases.
