CLA Scholarship Support (CLASS)
The College of Liberal Arts is committed to supporting the breadth of research, scholarly and creative activities of CLA faculty (RSCA). The CLA Scholarship Support (CLASS) Program (previously titled CSSS) provides funding for the scholarly development of tenure-track and tenured faculty in CLA.
Program at a Glance
CLASS funding is $7,500 pre-tax to support summer/off-term tenure-line faculty RSCA engagement, including external grant/foundation proposal development activities. We anticipate funding at least 20 CLASS faculty projects in Summer 2026. More information to be provided to awardees regarding the Summer 2026 payment mechanism. CLASS awards may count towards the maximum WTUs that a faculty member may teach in their off-term.
Eligibility: Except for those awarded CLASS support in Summer 2025 or AY 2025-26, all tenure-track and tenured faculty are eligible to apply. Lecturers are not eligible for this award.
